A cabin charter is the ideal way for a single person or a couple to enjoy a cruise of the Aegean or Mediterranean Sea. It is a much more cost-effective option than chartering a whole gulet and you get to meet people from around the world, while enjoying one of the most unique and relaxing holidays. Itineraries and ports of embarkation and disembarkation are fixed and cannot be altered.

Gulets used for cabin charter are 6-8 cabin boats, which means there will be a max. of 12-16 guests together. We are often asked “Who else will be on board?” unfortunately, due to the nature of a cabin charter’s booking system, we cannot give you an answer before embarkation. 

We are aware that many of you book your own transportation. To ensure that everyone can arrive in time, our cabin charters are keeping the following schedule for a 7-day week on board:
Day 1: Arrival and dinner on board - you may arrive at the boat from early afternoon onwards.
Day 2: The boat will leave the harbor after breakfast.
Day 6: In the late afternoon, the boat is coming back to the harbor or alternatively, it will anchor in a secluded bay nearby.
Day 7: After breakfast it is time to say Good-bye to your new friends and your crew. 

If you have not booked a special boat which we also offer, you will get exact information on what boat you will stay and where to find your boat, a day or two before the cruise starts. With cabin charter we all work like a cooperative group of agencies here in Bodrum or Marmaris and when not specially arranged the cabins are arranged and given due to availability.
That may sound a bit strange to you but we like to use the compare to a bus station, you book a trip to Istanbul and they can not give you the numberplate.
But to give you a save feeling: all our cabin charter is with 6 to 8 cabin gulets and all cabins have en-suite WC/shower.

Comfortable and informal clothes and shoes will serve you best, both, on board and while sightseeing in cities as well as ancient sites. Soft or rubber soled footwear or boat shoes are ideal on the boat. Sandals and hard soled shoes should only be worn on shore. Since you will anchor in beautiful bays you want to bring swimsuits and a beach towel (not supplied on all boats). Life on a boat will generally be informal, with that in mind - there is no need for a big suitcase - they are generally difficult to store on a boat; we would like to suggest a duffle bag type of luggage. Also, keep in mind that when visiting mosques or churches, you should avoid wearing either shorts or short sleeves, so please be respectful and come prepared.
 
Summer: During the summer months, you'll need your usual lightweight clothing, t-shirts, shorts, cotton slacks, jeans and shirts.
Spring / autumn: In April, May and from mid-September through to October, evenings will be cool and sometimes even during the day, so please bring a sweater or jacket.
 

Boats have a 220V electric system. Plugs are European style round pin. Buy an adapter and transformer before arrival. Deluxe boats generally have a hairdryer as standard. Please note, it is possible to charge mobile phone batteries.

Certainly! It is actually advisable to bring your own snorkel. There are usually masks and snorkel on board and they are kept clean, but having your own gear can be nice. Scuba diving equipment is not advisable unless you have booked a scuba holiday. There are areas in the Aegean and Mediterranean where scuba is prohibited.

Usually, British and US citizens need an entry visa, these can be purchased at the airport on arrival. For citizens of other countries, it is advisable to contact the Turkish Consulate in your own country before traveling.

It's best to wait until you arrive to change into local currency. In Turkey, US dollars, Euros and travelers checks are easily changed in to Turkish Liras everywhere, although you can save a bit of money by changing your cash at currency exchange offices. The *Döviz* offices obtain an excellent rate of exchange

A typical Turkish menu will be served daily. Breakfasts consist mainly of two types of cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, salami, eggs, jam, honey, butter, and fresh bread. Lunch is usually light, a cooked vegetable dish served with rice or pasta or bulgur wheat and large salads, followed by fresh seasonal fruit. The evening meal serves either chicken, meat or fish, two or three meze (starters), salads and a rice, pasta or bulgur wheat dish, and again followed by fresh fruit. The menus are fixed; however, the cook will work with you to meet special requests or dietary needs.

Temperatures in April, May and October range between 20-26°C (68-79°F) and are significantly cooler than summer temperatures. Temperatures for June, July and August range from 30-40°C (86-104°F). Summers are hot and dry. Jumping off the boat into the cool water will be bliss.

This type of holiday is flexible, you can do as much or as little as you choose. There is plenty of opportunity to lie back and relax, sun-bathe, read, listen to music or chat with new or old friends. You may also like to while away the time with a game of backgammon, (there will always be a member of the crew willing to teach you or play against you). You can swim, snorkel, or even try out other water-sports if they are available when you are at anchor, such as banana boat or doughnut rides (please ensure you are covered by your insurance before trying these activities). Some of the boats also carry a canoe or even a surf board.

Places worth visiting are Ephesus and Pamukkale, Myra, Arykanda, Batik Hamam, Kekova, Simena Castle, Dalyan and Caunos, Termessos, Ölü Deniz...the list can go on.

International or domestic flights are not included in any of our Blue Cruise arrangements. When you have decided on a tour and you know your travel details, please make sure you provide us with your correct travel information (i.e. arrival and departure dates and times, as well as airports).  We can then reliably arrange either to meet you or arrange a transfer to your boat.
Please understand that we do not make arrangements for air travel.

While the waters we travel are usually calm, some people are more prone to experiencing seasickness than others. If you think you might get seasick, we recommend you buy Dramamine, it is an inexpensive remedy that is easily available, either at pharmacies or often even at kiosks in a harbor. It is important you take it before you are experiencing any symptoms. It is best to take it before you board.
Many people also find ginger to be a helpful natural remedy to fight seasickness. Also helpful is jumping for a few minutes a couple of times a day. You will condition your vestibular system to the motion and reduce your susceptibility to seasickness significantly. Other people on the boat might think you're crazy, but this can be an added benefit. If you know you suffer from a more severe form of seasickness, please talk to your doctor and discuss prescription options.
